Meet Our Coaches

Karen Norris

Founder of the Serinas and Coach Emeritus

Karen attended Florida State University and swam for the FSU Tarpon Synchronized Swimming Club. She then went on to found the Tallahassee Serinas Synchronized Swimming Team in 1977. Over the years, Karen has coached athletes to finals at Age Group Nationals, to finals at Zone championships, and to the US National Team.

KIJKelsey James

Head Coach

Coach Kelsey is a Tallahassee native and swam with the Serinas for nine years! She also swam on the Florida High speed swimming team. She is a Senior at Florida State University, and this is her sixth year coaching for the Serinas. Coach Kelsey works with all groups and looks forward to meeting all of the new swimmers and opening their eyes and hearts to the world of synchronized swimming!

Natalia Lopez

Junior Olympic Coach

Natalia is from South Florida and swam for the Coral Spring Aquacades. She swam synchro for 13 years and has had many accomplishments in the sport. She will now be entering Florida State University as a freshman and is looking forward to taking her knowledge as a swimmer and applying it as a coach!

  

Sara Moran

Intermediate Coach

Coach Sara is from Delray Beach, Florida and swam for the Palm Beach Coralytes for eleven years. She will be a freshman at Florida State University and can’t wait to coach this year!

Meghan Wieckowski

Novice Coach 

Coach Meghan is from Wesley Chapel, Florida and swam for the New Tampa YMCA Synchro team for ten years. She also swam for the Wiregrass Ranch High School swim team. For the past four years, Coach Meghan worked as a Swim Instructor at the New Tampa YMCA and took on the official role as Coach for the Novice Synchro Team this past season.  Just completing her AA, she is transferring to Florida State University as a Junior majoring in English. Coach Meghan is looking forward to coaching this season and sharing her love of synchronized swimming!
