Meet Our Coaches

Karen Norris

Founder of the Serinas and Coach Emeritus

Karen attended Florida State University and swam for the FSU Tarpon Synchronized Swimming Club. She then went on to found the Tallahassee Serinas Synchronized Swimming Team in 1977. Over the years, Karen has coached athletes to finals at Age Group Nationals, to finals at Zone championships, and to the US National Team.

KIJKelsey James

Communication Director

Coach Kelsey is a Tallahassee native and swam with the Serinas for nine years and coached for six years and was the Head Coach for 1 year! Coach Kelsey has worked with all groups and looks forward to getting more swimmers on the Serinas! 

Natalia Lopez

Junior Olympic Coach

Natalia is from South Florida and swam for the Coral Spring Aquacades. She swam synchro for 13 years and has had many accomplishments in the sport. She is a sophomore at  Florida State University and is looking forward to taking her knowledge as a swimmer and applying it as a coach! This is her second year coaching after a very successful first year! 

  

Sara Moran

Intermediate Coach

Coach Sara is from Delray Beach, Florida and swam for the Palm Beach Coralytes for eleven years. She is a sophomore at Florida State University and can’t wait to coach her second season this year!

Meghan Wieckowski

Novice Coach 

Coach Meghan is from Wesley Chapel, Florida and swam for the New Tampa YMCA Synchro team for ten years. She also swam for the Wiregrass Ranch High School swim team. For the past four years, Coach Meghan worked as a Swim Instructor at the New Tampa YMCA and took on the official role as Coach for the Novice Synchro Team her final year. This will be Coach Meghan’s second season as the Novice Coach! She will also coach the clinic and recreational team!  Coach Meghan is looking forward to coaching this season and sharing her love of synchronized swimming!
